License, account & billing
AFI Pro is sold through Freemius. License management, payments, upgrades, downgrades, and refunds all happen via your Freemius account at users.freemius.com. This page covers the most-common ticketed situations.
Site / domain changes
- Moving to a new domain — see Change Domain.
- Staging site counts as a license seat — officially staging URLs are excluded. If your counter shows the staging site, contact support to reset it.
- “Used 10 of 10” but only 9 sites in the dashboard — counter glitch. Contact support to increment; resolved manually in seconds.
License upgrades / downgrades
- Single → multi-site upgrade: upgrade your single-site license to 3-site (or higher) with price adjustment. See Upgrade, Downgrade, Cancel.
- Two single licenses → one 3-site license: licenses can’t be merged technically. Workaround: upgrade one to 3-site, refund the other.
- License shows free after upgrade — you’ve installed the basic plugin only; Pro is a separate download. Visit your Freemius account to download Pro.
Renewals & expiry
- Subscription cancelled by mistake — cancellation is final. The license remains valid until its original expiry; after that you must buy a new subscription.
- “Can’t renew license” — visit users.freemius.com to update payment or renew manually.
- Payment in advance / extend expiry — subscription payments can’t be taken in advance. Buy another license instead; expiry can be extended on a case-by-case basis by support.
Refunds
- Within 30 days — refunded per the standard money-back guarantee. Process via Freemius.
Account email / merge
- Change your Freemius account email — reset password at users.freemius.com. If blocked, contact AFI support and we’ll update server-side.
- Combine two Freemius accounts — manual merge by support. Contact us with both email addresses.
- Didn’t receive invoice / payment email — likely a deliverability bounce. Update your Freemius contact email and we’ll forward the invoice manually.
Multisite licensing
Every WordPress subsite counts as one license seat — see Multisite. AFI Pro is activated per subsite under AFI > Account on that subsite.
