Memberful

Estimated reading: 2 minutes Updated August 1, 2026

Memberful is a membership management platform. Advanced Form Integration sends form submissions to Memberful, so every form entry on your WordPress site can create or update records automatically without manual data entry.

What you’ll need

  • An active Memberful account.
  • An API token from Memberful (see below).
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin installed and activated.

Get your Memberful API token

Memberful authenticates with a bearer token.

  1. Sign in to your Memberful account.
  2. Open Settings → API or the developer/integrations section.
  3. Generate or copy your API Token (sometimes called a Personal Access Token).
  4. Paste it in AFI → Settings → Memberful.

Connect Memberful to AFI

  1. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings and open the Memberful tab.
  2. Click Add New Account and paste the API key or token.
  3. Give the account a name you will recognise.
  4. Click Save.

Create the integration

  1. Go to AFI → Add New.
  2. Give the integration a name, for example Form to Memberful.
  3. Under Trigger, pick the form plugin and the specific form you want to listen on.
  4. Under Action → Platform, select Memberful.
  5. In Task, choose Create Member.
  6. Pick the saved account in the Memberful Account dropdown.
  7. Map your form fields onto the Memberful fields listed below.
  8. Optional: open Conditional Logic to limit which submissions are sent.
  9. Click Save Integration.

Tasks supported

Create Member

Creates a new member record from the form submission.

Field Field key Required Notes
Email (required email Yes
Full Name (required fullName No
Phone Number phoneNumber No
Custom Field customField No

Conditional logic example

Only send data to Memberful when the form’s email field is not empty, so test submissions or incomplete entries do not create records. Add a condition: Email is not empty.

Troubleshooting

Nothing arrives in Memberful

Open AFI → Log and find the most recent entry for this integration. AFI stores the request it sent and the raw response it got back. If there is no log entry at all, the trigger never fired: re-check the form selection and submit a real test entry from the front end.

API key rejected

Copy the key directly from Memberful with no leading or trailing spaces. If the key was revoked or regenerated, update it in AFI → Settings → Memberful.
