Telegram is a messaging platform. Advanced Form Integration sends form submissions to Telegram, so every form entry on your WordPress site can create or update records automatically without manual data entry.

What you’ll need

  • An active Telegram account.
  • An API key from Telegram (see below).
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin installed and activated.

Get your Telegram API key

Telegram authenticates with an API key.

  1. Sign in to your Telegram account.
  2. Navigate to the API or integrations section in your account settings.
  3. Generate or copy your API Key.
  4. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Telegram, click Add New Account, and paste the key.

Connect Telegram to AFI

  1. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings and open the Telegram tab.
  2. Click Add New Account and paste the API key or token.
  3. Give the account a name you will recognise.
  4. Click Save.

Create the integration

  1. Go to AFI → Add New.
  2. Give the integration a name, for example Form to Telegram.
  3. Under Trigger, pick the form plugin and the specific form you want to listen on.
  4. Under Action → Platform, select Telegram.
  5. In Task, choose Send Message.
  6. Pick the saved account in the Telegram Account dropdown.
  7. Map your form fields onto the Telegram fields listed below.
  8. Optional: open Conditional Logic to limit which submissions are sent.
  9. Click Save Integration.

Tasks supported

Send Message

Sends a message via the platform API from the form submission.

No additional field mapping required for this task.

Conditional logic example

Only send data to Telegram when the form’s email field is not empty, so test submissions or incomplete entries do not create records. Add a condition: Email is not empty.

Troubleshooting

Nothing arrives in Telegram

Open AFI → Log and find the most recent entry for this integration. AFI stores the request it sent and the raw response it got back. If there is no log entry at all, the trigger never fired: re-check the form selection and submit a real test entry from the front end.

API key rejected

Copy the key directly from Telegram with no leading or trailing spaces. If the key was revoked or regenerated, update it in AFI → Settings → Telegram.
