Acelle Mail
Acelle Mail is a self-hosted email marketing platform. Advanced Form Integration adds form submissions to your Acelle Mail lists as new subscribers, so every newsletter signup, lead capture, or registration form on your WordPress site grows your audience automatically.
What you’ll need
- A running Acelle Mail instance reachable over HTTPS from your WordPress server.
- An Acelle Mail API Endpoint (your installation URL) and API Token.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin installed and activated.
Get your Acelle Mail API token
Acelle Mail authenticates each API request with a token passed as a query parameter.
- Sign in to your Acelle Mail dashboard.
- Go to My Profile → Account → API Token.
- Copy the API Token. Also note your API Endpoint, which is your Acelle Mail installation URL (e.g.
https://mail.yoursite.com/api/v1).
Connect Acelle Mail to AFI
- In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings and open the Acelle Mail tab.
- Click Add New Account and fill in API Endpoint and API Token.
- Give the account a name you will recognise.
- Click Save.
Create the integration
- Go to AFI → Add New.
- Give the integration a name, for example
Newsletter signup to Acelle Mail. - Under Trigger, pick the form plugin and the specific form you want to listen on.
- Under Action → Platform, select Acelle Mail.
- In Task, choose Subscribe To List.
- Pick the saved account in the Acelle Account dropdown.
- Pick the Acelle List to subscribe to. AFI loads your lists automatically from the API.
- Map your form fields onto the Acelle Mail fields listed below.
- Optional: open Conditional Logic to limit which submissions are sent.
- Click Save Integration.
Tasks supported
Subscribe To List
Adds the form submitter as a subscriber on the chosen Acelle Mail list via POST /subscribers. The subscriber appears in your Acelle Mail dashboard immediately. Re-submissions with the same email update the existing subscriber rather than creating a duplicate.

Pro features
The Pro integration extends the free base with full custom-field mapping and tag application. Pro uses the same connection and the same Subscribe To List task, so your existing integrations keep working.
Custom field mapping
When you select a list in the Pro action, AFI fetches that list’s complete field schema from Acelle Mail automatically. Every custom field defined on the list (phone, company, birthday, address, any field type) appears in the mapper with its real label. Map form fields to any of them without needing to know the internal field keys.
Tags
Enter one or more tags separated by commas in the Tags field, and AFI applies them to the subscriber at creation time. Use tags to segment subscribers for targeted campaigns.

Conditional logic example
Subscribe contacts to your “Beta testers” list only when the form’s interested_in_beta checkbox is checked. Other newsletter signups go to your standard list via a separate integration. Add a condition: Interested in Beta is Yes.
Troubleshooting
Nothing arrives in Acelle Mail
Open AFI → Log and find the most recent entry for this integration. AFI stores the request it sent and the raw response it got back, so the error message from Acelle Mail is right there. If there is no log entry at all, the trigger never fired: re-check the form selection and submit a real test entry from the front end rather than the form builder preview.
Connection failed
Your Acelle Mail instance must be reachable from your WordPress server over HTTP or HTTPS. If it sits behind HTTP basic auth, IP allowlisting, or a private VPN, the connection will fail. Make sure the API Endpoint URL is correct and that your WordPress server can reach it.
Subscriber already exists
Acelle Mail treats duplicate emails as conflicts by default. AFI logs this as a non-fatal warning. The existing subscriber stays in place with their original consent state. To update existing subscribers instead, make sure your Acelle Mail list settings allow updates.
