MailingBoss

Estimated reading: 2 minutes Updated August 1, 2026

Mailingboss is a email marketing platform. Advanced Form Integration sends form submissions to Mailingboss, so every form entry on your WordPress site can create or update records automatically without manual data entry.

What you’ll need

  • An active Mailingboss account.
  • An API key from Mailingboss (see below).
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin installed and activated.

Get your Mailingboss API key

Mailingboss authenticates with an API key.

  1. Sign in to your Mailingboss account.
  2. Navigate to the API or integrations section in your account settings.
  3. Generate or copy your API Key.
  4. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Mailingboss, click Add New Account, and paste the key.

Connect Mailingboss to AFI

  1. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings and open the Mailingboss tab.
  2. Click Add New Account and paste the API key or token.
  3. Give the account a name you will recognise.
  4. Click Save.

Create the integration

  1. Go to AFI → Add New.
  2. Give the integration a name, for example Form to Mailingboss.
  3. Under Trigger, pick the form plugin and the specific form you want to listen on.
  4. Under Action → Platform, select Mailingboss.
  5. Pick the saved account in the Mailingboss Account dropdown.
  6. Map your form fields onto the Mailingboss fields listed below.
  7. Optional: open Conditional Logic to limit which submissions are sent.
  8. Click Save Integration.

Tasks supported

No additional field mapping required for this task.

Conditional logic example

Only send data to Mailingboss when the form’s email field is not empty, so test submissions or incomplete entries do not create records. Add a condition: Email is not empty.

Troubleshooting

Nothing arrives in Mailingboss

Open AFI → Log and find the most recent entry for this integration. AFI stores the request it sent and the raw response it got back. If there is no log entry at all, the trigger never fired: re-check the form selection and submit a real test entry from the front end.

API key rejected

Copy the key directly from Mailingboss with no leading or trailing spaces. If the key was revoked or regenerated, update it in AFI → Settings → Mailingboss.
