Deputy

Deputy is a workforce management platform. Advanced Form Integration sends form submissions to Deputy, so every form entry on your WordPress site can create or update records automatically without manual data entry.

What you’ll need

  • An active Deputy account.
  • A Deputy OAuth2 app (see below).
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin installed and activated.

Create a Deputy OAuth2 app

Deputy uses OAuth2 for API access. You need to register an app to get a Client ID and Client Secret.

  1. Sign in to the Deputy developer portal and create a new OAuth2 application.
  2. Copy the Redirect URI shown in the AFI Deputy settings tab and paste it into the app’s allowed redirect URIs.
  3. Note the Client ID and Client Secret.
  4. Paste them in AFI → Settings → Deputy and click Save & Authorize. After consent, AFI stores the token and refreshes it automatically.

Create the integration

  1. Go to AFI → Add New.
  2. Give the integration a name, for example Form to Deputy.
  3. Under Trigger, pick the form plugin and the specific form you want to listen on.
  4. Under Action → Platform, select Deputy.
  5. In Task, choose Create Employee.
  6. Pick the saved account in the Deputy Account dropdown.
  7. Map your form fields onto the Deputy fields listed below.
  8. Optional: open Conditional Logic to limit which submissions are sent.
  9. Click Save Integration.

Tasks supported

Create Employee

Creates a new employee record from the form submission.

Field Field key Required Notes
First Name (required first_name Yes
Last Name (required last_name Yes
Email email Yes
Mobile mobile No
Address Line 1 address1 No
City city No
Postcode postcode No
State state No
Country country No
Employment Contract ID (leave blank for default employment_contract_id No

Conditional logic example

Only send data to Deputy when the form’s email field is not empty, so test submissions or incomplete entries do not create records. Add a condition: Email is not empty.

Troubleshooting

Nothing arrives in Deputy

Open AFI → Log and find the most recent entry for this integration. AFI stores the request it sent and the raw response it got back. If there is no log entry at all, the trigger never fired: re-check the form selection and submit a real test entry from the front end.

Connection lost

The OAuth2 token may have expired or been revoked. Return to AFI → Settings → Deputy and click Re-authorize to refresh the connection.
