The Events Calendar
Overview
AFI creates events in The Events Calendar plugin from WordPress form submissions. Use it to let users (or admins) submit events through a custom form that auto-creates calendar entries.
Supported actions
- Create Event
- Create Venue
- Create Organizer
Authentication
- No API key — AFI writes directly to The Events Calendar on the same WordPress install.
- Confirm The Events Calendar is installed and activated.
How to create the integration
- In WordPress admin, go to AFI > New Integration.
- Pick your Sender (Contact Form 7, WPForms, WooCommerce, etc.) and the form / event to listen on.
- Pick The Events Calendar as the Receiver, then pick the Task you want to run.
- Map sender fields onto The Events Calendar’s fields. Event name, start date, and end date are required. Venue and organizer are optional.
- Optional: add Conditional Logic so the action only fires on matching submissions.
- Save and run a test submission. Check AFI > Log if anything looks off.
Notes & caveats
- Post status: AFI-created events default to publish — set to pending if you want moderator approval.
- Recurring events: requires the Events Calendar Pro add-on.
- Tickets: ticketed events need the Event Tickets add-on; configure tickets after creation.
