Overview

The AFI plugin allows you to connect your WordPress forms with Mailercloud, enabling automatic subscription of users to your Mailercloud email lists. Whenever someone fills out a form on your site, the data is sent directly to your selected Mailercloud list.

This is perfect for email marketing, newsletter signups, and lead generation.

🔧 How To Setup

Step 1: Connect Your Mailercloud Account

Before you can create an integration, you need to add your Mailercloud API key.

  1. Go to AFI → Settings → General

  2. Enable Mailercloud from the platform list and click Save Changes

  3. A new Mailercloud tab will appear at the top — click on it

  4. Enter your API Key

📌 How to Get Your API Key:

  • Log into your Mailercloud account

  • Go to Profile → Account → Integrations → API Integrations

  • Generate an API Key

  • Copy and paste the key into the plugin settings

  • Click Save Changes

Step 2: Create New Integration

  1. Go to AFI → Add New

  2. You’ll land on the New Integration setup screen

🔹 Title
Give your integration a meaningful name (e.g., “Mailercloud Newsletter Signup”)

🔹 Trigger

  • Form Provider: Choose your form plugin (e.g., WPForms, Elementor, Contact Form 7)

  • Form/Task Name: Select the form you want to connect

Step 3: Configure the Action

  • Platform: Select Mailercloud

  • Task: Choose Subscribe to List

This task will subscribe the user to your selected Mailercloud list upon form submission.

Step 4: Map Fields

Once the task is selected, you’ll be able to configure the following options:

🔹 Mailercloud List
Select the target list where new subscribers will be added. The plugin will fetch your available lists using the stored credentials.

🔹 Subscriber Fields
Map the form fields to Mailercloud’s contact fields:

  • Email (required)

  • First Name, Last Name, etc. (optional, based on your list configuration)

Each left-hand field is from Mailercloud; map them to your form fields using the dropdowns on the right.

Step 5: Save Integration

Click Save Integration at the bottom.

🎉 You’re done! From now on, form submissions will automatically subscribe users to your selected Mailercloud list.

🔍 Troubleshooting

If the integration isn’t working:

  • Go to AFI → Log

  • Check the logs for your Mailercloud requests

Make sure:

  • The correct API Key was used

  • The selected list exists

  • Required fields like Email were mapped and filled

  • No API error was returned (e.g., “Email already exist” means the contact already exists and will be updated)
