The AFI plugin allows you to connect your WordPress forms with SmartrMail, enabling automatic addition or update of subscribers in your mailing lists. When someone submits a form, their details can be synced directly with your SmartrMail audience—no manual work needed.

🔧 How To Setup
Step 1: Get Your SmartrMail Private API Token
Log in to your SmartrMail account
Navigate to Account → API
Generate or copy your Private API Token
Step 2: Connect SmartrMail in AFI
Go to
AFI → Settings → SmartrMail
Paste your Private API Token
Click Save Changes
You can save multiple credentials if you manage more than one SmartrMail account.
Step 3: Create a New Integration
Navigate to
AFI → Add New
Add a title such as “SmartrMail Subscriber Sync”
🔹 Trigger
Form Provider: Choose your form plugin (e.g., WPForms, Gravity Forms, Fluent Forms, etc.)
Form Name: Select the form you want to connect
Step 4: Configure the Action
Platform: Select SmartrMail
Task: Select Add/Update Subscriber to List
Step 5: Map Fields
After selecting the task, you’ll see field mapping options:
SmartrMail Account
Choose the connected account from the dropdownMailing List
Select the list where you want to add or update subscribersField Mapping
Match your form fields with SmartrMail fields, including:Email (required)
First Name
Last Name
Phone
Custom Fields
Step 6: Save Integration
Click Save Integration to complete the setup.
🎉 Now, every form submission will sync the contact to SmartrMail automatically!
🔍 Troubleshooting
If your integration is not working:
🔹 Check Logs
Navigate to AFI → Log
and inspect request/response details.
🔹 Invalid API Token
Ensure the token is correct and hasn’t expired.
🔹 Missing Email
Make sure the email field is correctly mapped and contains a valid address.
🔹 List Not Found
Verify that the selected list still exists in your SmartrMail account.
🔹 Unexpected API Response
Check for API errors or unusual data structures in the log.
