Overview

The AFI plugin lets you seamlessly connect your WordPress forms to Acumbamail, enabling automatic subscriber addition to your email lists. Every time a user submits a form, their details can be sent directly to your Acumbamail audience.

Ideal for lead capture, email newsletters, product launches, and more.

🔧 How To Setup

Step 1: Connect Your Acumbamail Account

To get started, you need to add your Acumbamail API key.

1. Go to AFI → Settings → General

2. Enable Acumbamail and click Save Changes

3. A new Acumbamail tab will appear — click on it

4. Enter your API Key

📌 How to Get Your API Key:

• Log into your Acumbamail account

• Navigate to Settings → API

• Copy your API Key

• Paste it into the plugin settings and click Save Changes

Step 2: Create a New Integration

1. Go to AFI → Add New

2. You’ll land on the New Integration screen

🔹 Title

Give your integration a clear name, such as “Newsletter Signup – Acumbamail”

🔹 Trigger

• Form Provider: Choose your form plugin (e.g., WPForms, Elementor, Contact Form 7)

• Form/Task Name: Select the form you want to connect

Step 3: Configure the Action

🔹 Platform

Select Acumbamail

🔹 Task

Choose Add Subscriber

This action will send the form data to the Acumbamail list you choose.

Step 4: Map Fields

Once the task is selected, you’ll be able to configure the following:

🔹 Acumbamail Account

Choose your connected Acumbamail account

🔹 Mailing List

Select the Acumbamail list where new contacts will be added

✅ Lists are automatically fetched from your Acumbamail account.

🔹 Subscriber Fields

Map your form fields to Acumbamail fields:

• Email (required)

• Name (optional)

• Surname (optional)

• Other Custom Fields – these will be added as merge fields

• Double Opt-in – true/false (optional)

✨ AFI will also send a welcome email automatically and can update existing subscribers if they already exist in the list.

Step 5: Save Integration

Click Save Integration to finish setup.

🎉 Done! From now on, anyone who submits the form will be added to your Acumbamail list automatically.

🔍 Troubleshooting

If something doesn’t work as expected:

1. Go to AFI → Log

2. Look for entries related to Acumbamail and check the request/response data

Make sure:

• The API key is valid

• The selected list exists

• Email field is correctly mapped and provided

• Custom fields are properly matched

• No API error is returned from Acumbamail
