How to Send Quill Forms Data to WhatsApp
WhatsApp is a messaging platform. Events can trigger instant notifications. Every Quill Forms submission record should flow into WhatsApp automatically. This guide shows how to set that up in five minutes.
The direct approach
AFI delivers submission data straight from WordPress to WhatsApp. No third-party cloud, no per-task fees, and every request is logged for troubleshooting.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with Quill Forms installed and configured.
- A WhatsApp account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect WhatsApp to AFI
WhatsApp uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → WhatsApp, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Quill Forms to WhatsApp.
2. Pick your trigger
Select Quill Forms as the form provider. AFI fires when a conversational form is completed, giving you access to respondent name, email, phone, and any custom form answers.
3. Select WhatsApp as the destination
Choose WhatsApp from the platform dropdown and pick Send Message. This sends a WhatsApp message via the Business API.
4. Map fields
Match each WhatsApp field on the left to the corresponding Quill Forms field on the right. Common mappings include respondent name, email, phone, and any custom form answers. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Quill Forms. Check WhatsApp to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps phone number and message text to WhatsApp with unlimited records. Pro adds template message selection. No per-record fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which Quill Forms events trigger the integration?
AFI fires when a conversational form is completed. This covers new submissions and relevant status changes.
Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.
Can I send data to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
