How to Send Easy Digital Downloads Orders to Kit
Kit is a email marketing platform for managing subscribers and campaigns. Easy Digital Downloads powers digital product sales on WordPress. Kit is where your customer and order data needs to go. Here is how to connect them without Zapier or code.
Why connect directly?
Cloud automation tools like Zapier charge per task and route your data through external servers. AFI processes everything on your WordPress site. No per-order fees, no external dependencies.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with Easy Digital Downloads installed and configured.
- A Kit account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Kit to AFI
- Log in to your Kit account.
- Go to Settings → API and copy your API Key.
- In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Kit.
- Paste the API Key and click Save Changes.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Easy Digital Downloads to Kit.
2. Pick your trigger
Select Easy Digital Downloads as the form provider. AFI fires when a purchase is completed, giving you access to customer details, product information, payment data, and download links.
3. Select Kit as the destination
Choose Kit from the platform dropdown and pick Add Subscriber. This adds a subscriber to Kit.
4. Map fields
Match each Kit field on the left to the corresponding Easy Digital Downloads field on the right. Common mappings include customer name, email, product details, and order total. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain purchases? Set up a conditional rule. For example, only sync completed payments or specific products.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Place a test purchase in your Easy Digital Downloads store. Check Kit to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps email, first name, and last name to Kit with unlimited orders. Pro adds custom field mapping and tag selection. No per-order fees on any plan.
