Microsoft To Do is a task management platform. Charitable handles a donation is made through a fundraising campaign on your WordPress site. Microsoft To Do is where that data needs to go. Here is how to connect them without Zapier or code.

Why connect directly?

Cloud automation tools like Zapier charge per task and route your data through external servers. AFI processes everything on your WordPress site. No per-donation fees, no external dependencies.

What you will need

  • A WordPress site with Charitable installed and configured.
  • A Microsoft To Do account.
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).

Connect Microsoft To Do to AFI

Microsoft To Do uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Microsoft To Do, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Charitable to Microsoft To Do.

2. Pick your trigger

Select Charitable as the form provider. AFI fires when a donation is made through a fundraising campaign, giving you access to donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway.

3. Select Microsoft To Do as the destination

Choose Microsoft To Do from the platform dropdown and pick Create Task. This creates a task in Microsoft To Do.

4. Map fields

Match each Microsoft To Do field on the left to the corresponding Charitable field on the right. Common mappings include donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Charitable. Check Microsoft To Do to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.

Free vs Pro

The free version maps title and notes to Microsoft To Do with unlimited records. Pro adds list selection. No per-record fees on any plan.

Frequently asked questions

Which Charitable events trigger the integration?

AFI fires when a donation is made through a fundraising campaign. This covers new submissions and relevant status changes.

Will adding this slow down my site?

No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.

Can I send data to multiple platforms?

Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
