Postmark is a transactional email platform for managing subscribers and campaigns. Ultimate Member handles a user registers or updates their profile on your WordPress site. Postmark is where that data needs to go. Here is how to connect them without Zapier or code.

Why not just use Zapier?

For connecting Ultimate Member to transactional email, a cloud automation service adds cost and a dependency on an external server. AFI runs on your site with no task limits.

What you will need

  • A WordPress site with Ultimate Member installed and configured.
  • A Postmark account.
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).

Connect Postmark to AFI

  1. Log in to your Postmark account.
  2. Go to Settings → API and copy your Server API Token.
  3. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Postmark.
  4. Paste the API Token and click Save Changes.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Ultimate Member to Postmark.

2. Pick your trigger

Select Ultimate Member as the form provider. AFI fires when a user registers or updates their profile, giving you access to user name, email, username, account type, and custom profile fields.

3. Select Postmark as the destination

Choose Postmark from the platform dropdown and pick Add Mailing List Member. This adds a member to a Postmark mailing list.

4. Map fields

Match each Postmark field on the left to the corresponding Ultimate Member field on the right. Common mappings include user name, email, username, account type, and custom profile fields. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Ultimate Member. Check Postmark to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.

Free vs Pro

The free version maps email and name to Postmark with unlimited records. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-record fees on any plan.

Frequently asked questions

Which Ultimate Member events trigger the integration?

AFI fires when a user registers or updates their profile. This covers new submissions and relevant status changes.

Will adding this slow down my site?

No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.

Can I send data to multiple platforms?

Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
