Maropost is a marketing automation platform. Here is how to pipe The Events Calendar event straight into Maropost using Advanced Form Integration. The setup takes about five minutes and runs entirely on your own server.

Skip the automation middleman

Rather than routing data through a third-party cloud, AFI sends it directly from your WordPress server to marketing automation. No task meter, no monthly bill.

What you will need

  • A WordPress site with The Events Calendar installed and configured.
  • A Maropost account.
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).

Connect Maropost to AFI

  1. Log in to your Maropost account.
  2. Copy your Account ID and API Token.
  3. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Maropost.
  4. Enter the credentials and click Save.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it The Events Calendar to Maropost.

2. Pick your trigger

Select The Events Calendar as the form provider. AFI fires when an event RSVP or ticket order is submitted, giving you access to attendee name, email, event title, event date, ticket type, and order total.

3. Select Maropost as the destination

Choose Maropost from the platform dropdown and pick Add Contact. This adds a contact to Maropost.

4. Map fields

Match each Maropost field on the left to the corresponding The Events Calendar field on the right. Common mappings include attendee name, email, event title, event date, ticket type, and order total. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in The Events Calendar. Check Maropost to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.

Free vs Pro

The free version maps email, first name, and last name to Maropost with unlimited records. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-record fees on any plan.

Frequently asked questions

Which The Events Calendar events trigger the integration?

AFI fires when an event RSVP or ticket order is submitted. This covers new submissions and relevant status changes.

Will adding this slow down my site?

No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.

Can I send data to multiple platforms?

Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
