DocuSign is a document signing platform. Restrict Content Pro manages a member signs up or a payment completes, but sending that data to external platforms needs an integration. AFI bridges that gap to DocuSign.

Why not just use Zapier?

For connecting Restrict Content Pro to document signing, a cloud automation service adds cost and a dependency on an external server. AFI runs on your site with no task limits.

What you will need

  • A WordPress site with Restrict Content Pro installed and configured.
  • A DocuSign account.
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).

Connect DocuSign to AFI

DocuSign uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → DocuSign, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Restrict Content Pro to DocuSign.

2. Pick your trigger

Select Restrict Content Pro as the form provider. AFI fires when a member signs up or a payment completes, giving you access to member name, email, membership level, payment amount, and subscription status.

3. Select DocuSign as the destination

Choose DocuSign from the platform dropdown and pick Send Envelope. This creates and sends an envelope in DocuSign.

4. Map fields

Match each DocuSign field on the left to the corresponding Restrict Content Pro field on the right. Common mappings include member name, email, membership level, payment amount, and subscription status. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Restrict Content Pro. Check DocuSign to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.

Free vs Pro

The free version maps recipient email and name to DocuSign with unlimited records. Pro adds custom field mapping and template selection. No per-record fees on any plan.

Frequently asked questions

Which Restrict Content Pro events trigger the integration?

AFI fires when a member signs up or a payment completes. This covers new submissions and relevant status changes.

Will adding this slow down my site?

No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.

Can I send data to multiple platforms?

Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
