How to Send Paid Memberships Pro Data to mailchef
mailchef is a email marketing platform for managing subscribers and campaigns. Paid Memberships Pro handles a member checks out or a membership level changes on your WordPress site. mailchef is where that data needs to go. Here is how to connect them without Zapier or code.
Why connect directly?
Cloud automation tools like Zapier charge per task and route your data through external servers. AFI processes everything on your WordPress site. No per-membership fees, no external dependencies.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with Paid Memberships Pro installed and configured.
- A mailchef account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect mailchef to AFI
mailchef uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → mailchef, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Paid Memberships Pro to mailchef.
2. Pick your trigger
Select Paid Memberships Pro as the form provider. AFI fires when a member checks out or a membership level changes, giving you access to member name, email, membership level, payment amount, and order ID.
3. Select mailchef as the destination
Choose mailchef from the platform dropdown and pick Add Subscriber. This adds a subscriber to mailchef.
4. Map fields
Match each mailchef field on the left to the corresponding Paid Memberships Pro field on the right. Common mappings include member name, email, membership level, payment amount, and order ID. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Paid Memberships Pro. Check mailchef to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps email and name to mailchef with unlimited records. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-record fees on any plan.
