Sarbacane is a email marketing platform for managing subscribers and campaigns. MailPoet handles a subscriber joins a list or a newsletter form is submitted on your WordPress site. Sarbacane is where that data needs to go. Here is how to connect them without Zapier or code.

Why connect directly?

Cloud automation tools like Zapier charge per task and route your data through external servers. AFI processes everything on your WordPress site. No per-subscriber fees, no external dependencies.

What you will need

  • A WordPress site with MailPoet installed and configured.
  • A Sarbacane account.
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).

Connect Sarbacane to AFI

Sarbacane uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Sarbacane, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it MailPoet to Sarbacane.

2. Pick your trigger

Select MailPoet as the form provider. AFI fires when a subscriber joins a list or a newsletter form is submitted, giving you access to subscriber name, email, list ID, and subscription status.

3. Select Sarbacane as the destination

Choose Sarbacane from the platform dropdown and pick Add Contact. This adds a contact to Sarbacane.

4. Map fields

Match each Sarbacane field on the left to the corresponding MailPoet field on the right. Common mappings include subscriber name, email, list ID, and subscription status. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in MailPoet. Check Sarbacane to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.

Free vs Pro

The free version maps email and name to Sarbacane with unlimited records. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-record fees on any plan.

Frequently asked questions

Which MailPoet events trigger the integration?

Will adding this slow down my site?

No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.

Can I send data to multiple platforms?

Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
