How to Send LifterLMS Enrollments to OpenPhone
OpenPhone is a phone system platform. Every LifterLMS enrollment should flow into OpenPhone automatically. This guide shows how to set that up in five minutes.
Skip the automation middleman
Rather than routing data through a third-party cloud, AFI sends it directly from your WordPress server to phone system. No task meter, no monthly bill.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with LifterLMS installed and at least one course.
- A OpenPhone account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect OpenPhone to AFI
- Log in to your OpenPhone account.
- Copy your API Key from settings.
- In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → OpenPhone.
- Paste the API Key and click Save Changes.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it LifterLMS to OpenPhone.
2. Pick your trigger
Select LifterLMS as the form provider. AFI fires when a student enrolls in a course or purchases a membership, giving you access to student details, course information, and enrollment data.
3. Select OpenPhone as the destination
Choose OpenPhone from the platform dropdown and pick Add Contact. This creates a contact in OpenPhone.
4. Map fields
Match each OpenPhone field on the left to the corresponding LifterLMS field on the right. Common mappings include student name, email, course title, and enrollment date. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain enrollments? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Complete a test enrollment in LifterLMS. Check OpenPhone to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps name, email, and phone to OpenPhone with unlimited enrollments. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-enrollment fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which LifterLMS events trigger the integration?
AFI fires when a student enrolls in a course or purchases a membership. This covers new enrollments, course completions, and student registrations.
Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the enrollment event completes. Your students are not affected.
Can I send enrollments to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every enrollment flows to all of them simultaneously.
