How to Send LifterLMS Enrollments to Attentive

Attentive is a SMS marketing platform. Every LifterLMS enrollment should flow into Attentive automatically. This guide shows how to set that up in five minutes.

The direct approach

What you will need

• A WordPress site with LifterLMS installed and at least one course.
• A Attentive account.
• The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).

Connect Attentive to AFI

1. Log in to your Attentive account.
2. Go to Settings → API and copy your API Key.
3. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Attentive.
4. Paste the API Key and click Save Changes.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it LifterLMS to Attentive.

2. Pick your trigger

Select LifterLMS as the form provider. AFI fires when a student enrolls in a course or purchases a membership, giving you access to student details, course information, and enrollment data.

3. Select Attentive as the destination

Choose Attentive from the platform dropdown and pick Add Subscriber. This subscribes a contact in Attentive.

4. Map fields

Match each Attentive field on the left to the corresponding LifterLMS field on the right. Common mappings include student name, email, course title, and enrollment date. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain enrollments? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Complete a test enrollment in LifterLMS. Check Attentive to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
