How to Send LearnDash Enrollments to Mailshake
Mailshake is a email outreach platform for managing subscribers and campaigns. If you want LearnDash data in Mailshake, you could pay for a cloud automation service. Or you could do it directly from WordPress. This is the direct route.
Why not just use Zapier?
For connecting your LMS to email outreach, a cloud automation service adds cost and a dependency on an external server. AFI runs on your site with no task limits.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with LearnDash installed and at least one course.
- A Mailshake account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Mailshake to AFI
- Log in to your Mailshake account.
- Go to Settings → API and generate an API Key.
- In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Mailshake.
- Paste the API Key and click Save Changes.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it LearnDash to Mailshake.
2. Pick your trigger
Select LearnDash as the form provider. AFI fires when a student enrolls in a course or completes a lesson, giving you access to student details, course information, and enrollment data.
3. Select Mailshake as the destination
Choose Mailshake from the platform dropdown and pick Add Lead. This adds a lead to a Mailshake campaign.
4. Map fields
Match each Mailshake field on the left to the corresponding LearnDash field on the right. Common mappings include student name, email, course title, and enrollment date. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain enrollments? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Complete a test enrollment in LearnDash. Check Mailshake to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps email, first name, and last name to Mailshake with unlimited enrollments. Pro adds custom field mapping and campaign selection. No per-enrollment fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which LearnDash events trigger the integration?
AFI fires when a student enrolls in a course or completes a lesson. This covers new enrollments, course completions, and student registrations.
Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the enrollment event completes. Your students are not affected.
Can I send enrollments to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every enrollment flows to all of them simultaneously.
