How to Send GiveWP Data to SendGrid
SendGrid is a email delivery platform for managing subscribers and campaigns. GiveWP handles a donation is made on your WordPress site. SendGrid is where that data needs to go. Here is how to connect them without Zapier or code.
Why not just use Zapier?

What you will need
- A WordPress site with GiveWP installed and configured.
- A SendGrid account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect SendGrid to AFI
- Log in to your SendGrid account.
- Go to Settings → API Keys and create a key.
- In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → SendGrid.
- Paste the API Key and click Save Changes.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it GiveWP to SendGrid.
2. Pick your trigger
Select GiveWP as the form provider. AFI fires when a donation is made, giving you access to donor name, email, donation amount, form ID, and payment method.
3. Select SendGrid as the destination
Choose SendGrid from the platform dropdown and pick Add Contact. This adds a contact to a SendGrid list.
4. Map fields
Match each SendGrid field on the left to the corresponding GiveWP field on the right. Common mappings include donor name, email, donation amount, form ID, and payment method. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in GiveWP. Check SendGrid to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
