How to Send Funnel Builder Data to Clio
Clio is a legal practice management platform. Getting Funnel Builder submission into Clio does not require external tools. Advanced Form Integration handles it natively, and this guide covers every step.
The direct approach
AFI delivers submission data straight from WordPress to Clio. No third-party cloud, no per-task fees, and every request is logged for troubleshooting.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with Funnel Builder installed and configured.
- A Clio account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Clio to AFI
Clio uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Clio, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Funnel Builder to Clio.
2. Pick your trigger
Select Funnel Builder as the form provider. AFI fires when a visitor submits a form or completes a step in a funnel, giving you access to visitor name, email, phone, funnel step, and custom field values.
3. Select Clio as the destination
Choose Clio from the platform dropdown and pick Add Contact. This creates a contact in Clio.
4. Map fields
Match each Clio field on the left to the corresponding Funnel Builder field on the right. Common mappings include visitor name, email, phone, funnel step, and custom field values. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Funnel Builder. Check Clio to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps name, email, and phone to Clio with unlimited records. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-record fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which Funnel Builder events trigger the integration?
AFI fires when a visitor submits a form or completes a step in a funnel. This covers new submissions and relevant status changes.
Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.
Can I send data to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
