How to Send Fluent Forms Submissions to Vertical Response
Vertical Response is a email marketing platform for managing subscribers and campaigns. Fluent Forms lets you build forms with conditional logic and multi-step layouts, but sending data to external platforms needs an integration. AFI bridges that gap to Vertical Response.
Why not just use Zapier?
For connecting Fluent Forms to email marketing, a cloud automation service adds cost and a dependency on an external server. AFI runs on your site with no task limits.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with Fluent Forms installed and at least one form.
- A Vertical Response account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Vertical Response to AFI
- Log in to your Vertical Response account.
- Go to Settings → API and copy your API Key.
- In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Vertical Response.
- Paste the API Key and click Save Changes.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Fluent Forms to Vertical Response.
2. Pick your trigger
Select Fluent Forms as the form provider and choose the form you want to connect. AFI detects the fields automatically.
3. Select Vertical Response as the destination
Choose Vertical Response from the platform dropdown and pick Add Contact. This adds a contact to a Vertical Response list.
4. Map fields
Match each Vertical Response field on the left to the corresponding Fluent Forms field on the right. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}} and {{utm_source}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain submissions? Set up a conditional rule based on any form field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Fill out your Fluent form and submit. Check Vertical Response to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps email and name to Vertical Response with unlimited submissions. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-submission fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions

No. AFI sends data to the destination after the form submission completes. Your visitors see the normal confirmation message without any delay.
Can I connect multiple Fluent Forms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each form, or send one form to multiple platforms.
