How to Send Fluent Forms Submissions to Mailgun

Mailgun is a email delivery platform for managing subscribers and campaigns. Every Fluent Forms submission should flow into Mailgun without manual effort. This guide shows how to set that up in five minutes.

What you will need

• A WordPress site with Fluent Forms installed and at least one form.
• A Mailgun account.
• The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).

Connect Mailgun to AFI

1. Log in to your Mailgun account.
2. Go to Settings → API Keys and copy your Private API Key.
3. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Mailgun.
4. Enter your domain and API Key, then click Save.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Fluent Forms to Mailgun.

2. Pick your trigger

Select Fluent Forms as the form provider and choose the form you want to connect. AFI detects the fields automatically.

3. Select Mailgun as the destination

Choose Mailgun from the platform dropdown and pick Add Mailing List Member. This adds a member to a Mailgun mailing list.

4. Map fields

Match each Mailgun field on the left to the corresponding Fluent Forms field on the right. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}} and {{utm_source}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain submissions? Set up a conditional rule based on any form field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Fill out your Fluent form and submit. Check Mailgun to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
