Microsoft To Do is a task management platform. Easy Digital Downloads powers digital product sales on WordPress. Microsoft To Do is where your customer and order data needs to go. Here is how to connect them without Zapier or code.

Why connect directly?

Cloud automation tools like Zapier charge per task and route your data through external servers. AFI processes everything on your WordPress site. No per-order fees, no external dependencies.

What you will need

  • A WordPress site with Easy Digital Downloads installed and configured.
  • A Microsoft To Do account.
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).

Connect Microsoft To Do to AFI

Microsoft To Do uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Microsoft To Do, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Easy Digital Downloads to Microsoft To Do.

2. Pick your trigger

Select Easy Digital Downloads as the form provider. AFI fires when a purchase is completed, giving you access to customer details, product information, payment data, and download links.

3. Select Microsoft To Do as the destination

Choose Microsoft To Do from the platform dropdown and pick Create Task. This creates a task in Microsoft To Do.

4. Map fields

Match each Microsoft To Do field on the left to the corresponding Easy Digital Downloads field on the right. Common mappings include customer name, email, product details, and order total. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain purchases? Set up a conditional rule. For example, only sync completed payments or specific products.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Place a test purchase in your Easy Digital Downloads store. Check Microsoft To Do to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.

Free vs Pro

The free version maps title and notes to Microsoft To Do with unlimited orders. Pro adds list selection. No per-order fees on any plan.

Frequently asked questions

Which Easy Digital Downloads events trigger the integration?

Will adding this slow down my checkout?

No. AFI sends data to the destination after the purchase is processed. Your customers complete checkout normally without any delay.

Can I send purchases to multiple platforms?

Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every purchase flows to all of them simultaneously.
