DocuSign is a document signing platform. Contact Form 7 is the most popular form plugin on WordPress, and DocuSign is where that data needs to land. Here is how to connect the two without writing code.

Why not just use Zapier?

For connecting Contact Form 7 to document signing, a cloud automation service adds cost and a dependency on an external server. AFI runs on your site with no task limits.

What you will need

  • A WordPress site with Contact Form 7 installed and at least one form.
  • A DocuSign account.
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).

Connect DocuSign to AFI

DocuSign uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → DocuSign, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it CF7 to DocuSign.

2. Pick your trigger

Select Contact Form 7 and choose your form. Fields are detected automatically.

3. Select DocuSign as the destination

Choose DocuSign and pick Send Envelope. This creates and sends an envelope in DocuSign.

4. Map fields

Match each DocuSign field to the corresponding Contact Form 7 field. Smart tags like {{_submission_date}} are available.

5. Add conditions if needed

Send only specific submissions based on conditional rules.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Submit a test form and verify in DocuSign. Check AFI → Log if needed.

Free vs Pro

Free maps recipient email and name with unlimited submissions. Pro adds custom field mapping and template selection. No per-submission fees.
