How to Send Charitable Data to LiveChat
LiveChat is a live chat platform. Events can trigger instant notifications. Every Charitable donation record should flow into LiveChat automatically. This guide shows how to set that up in five minutes.
Skip the automation middleman
Rather than routing data through a third-party cloud, AFI sends it directly from your WordPress server to live chat. No task meter, no monthly bill.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with Charitable installed and configured.
- A LiveChat account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect LiveChat to AFI
LiveChat uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → LiveChat, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Charitable to LiveChat.
2. Pick your trigger
Select Charitable as the form provider. AFI fires when a donation is made through a fundraising campaign, giving you access to donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway.
3. Select LiveChat as the destination
Choose LiveChat from the platform dropdown and pick Add Customer. This creates a customer in LiveChat.
4. Map fields
Match each LiveChat field on the left to the corresponding Charitable field on the right. Common mappings include donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Charitable. Check LiveChat to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps name and email to LiveChat with unlimited records. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-record fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which Charitable events trigger the integration?
AFI fires when a donation is made through a fundraising campaign. This covers new submissions and relevant status changes.
Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.
Can I send data to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
