How to Send Charitable Data to Discord

Discord is a messaging platform. Events can trigger instant notifications. Every Charitable donation record should flow into Discord automatically. This guide shows how to set that up in five minutes.

Connect Discord to AFI

Discord uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Discord, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Charitable to Discord.

2. Pick your trigger

Select Charitable as the form provider. AFI fires when a donation is made through a fundraising campaign, giving you access to donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway.

3. Select Discord as the destination

Choose Discord from the platform dropdown and pick Send Message. This sends a message to a Discord channel.

4. Map fields

Match each Discord field on the left to the corresponding Charitable field on the right. Common mappings include donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Charitable. Check Discord to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
