How to Send BuddyPress Data to Copper CRM
Copper CRM is a CRM that helps you manage contacts and track interactions. Getting BuddyPress data into Copper CRM does not require external tools. Advanced Form Integration handles it natively, and this guide covers every step.
Skip the automation middleman
Rather than routing data through a third-party cloud, AFI sends it directly from your WordPress server to CRM. No task meter, no monthly bill.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with BuddyPress installed and configured.
- A Copper CRM account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Copper CRM to AFI
- Log in to your Copper CRM account.
- Go to Settings → Integrations → API Keys and copy your API Key.
- In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Copper.
- Enter your email and API Key, then click Save.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it BuddyPress to Copper CRM.
2. Pick your trigger
Select BuddyPress as the form provider. AFI fires when a member registers, updates their profile, or joins a group, giving you access to member details, profile fields, and activity data.
3. Select Copper CRM as the destination
Choose Copper CRM from the platform dropdown and pick Create Person. This creates a person in Copper CRM.
4. Map fields
Match each Copper CRM field on the left to the corresponding BuddyPress field on the right. Common mappings include member name, email, profile data, and activity type. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain activities? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test a member registers, updates their profile, or joins a group in BuddyPress. Check Copper CRM to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps name, email, and phone to Copper CRM with unlimited events. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-event fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which BuddyPress events trigger the integration?
AFI fires when a member registers, updates their profile, or joins a group. This covers member registrations, profile updates, and group joins.
Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the community event completes. Your members are not affected.
Can I send member data to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every event flows to all of them simultaneously.
