DirectIQ is a email marketing platform for managing subscribers and campaigns. If you want BuddyBoss activity in DirectIQ, you could pay for a cloud automation service. Or you could do it directly from WordPress. This is the direct route.

Why connect directly?

Cloud automation tools like Zapier charge per task and route your data through external servers. AFI processes everything on your WordPress site. No per-registration fees, no external dependencies.

What you will need

  • A WordPress site with BuddyBoss installed and configured.
  • A DirectIQ account.
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).

Connect DirectIQ to AFI

  1. Log in to your DirectIQ account.
  2. Go to Settings → API and copy your API Key and Secret.
  3. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → DirectIQ.
  4. Enter the credentials and click Save.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it BuddyBoss to DirectIQ.

2. Pick your trigger

Select BuddyBoss as the form provider. AFI fires when a member registers, updates their profile, or joins a group, giving you access to member details, profile fields, and activity data.

3. Select DirectIQ as the destination

Choose DirectIQ from the platform dropdown and pick Add Subscriber. This adds a subscriber to DirectIQ.

4. Map fields

Match each DirectIQ field on the left to the corresponding BuddyBoss field on the right. Common mappings include member name, email, profile data, and activity type. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain activities? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Trigger a test a member registers, updates their profile, or joins a group in BuddyBoss. Check DirectIQ to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.

Free vs Pro

The free version maps email and name to DirectIQ with unlimited events. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-event fees on any plan.

Frequently asked questions

Which BuddyBoss events trigger the integration?

AFI fires when a member registers, updates their profile, or joins a group. This covers member registrations, profile updates, and group joins.

Will adding this slow down my site?

No. AFI sends data to the destination after the community event completes. Your members are not affected.

Can I send member data to multiple platforms?

Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every event flows to all of them simultaneously.
