How to Send bbPress Data to Dynamics 365 Sales
Dynamics 365 Sales is a CRM that helps you manage contacts and track interactions. Every bbPress a user creates a topic or replies in a forum should flow into Dynamics 365 Sales automatically. This guide shows how to set that up in five minutes.
Skip the automation middleman
Rather than routing data through a third-party cloud, AFI sends it directly from your WordPress server to CRM. No task meter, no monthly bill.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with bbPress installed and configured.
- A Dynamics 365 Sales account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Dynamics 365 Sales to AFI
Dynamics 365 Sales uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Dynamics 365 Sales, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it bbPress to Dynamics 365 Sales.
2. Pick your trigger
Select bbPress as the form provider. AFI fires when a user creates a topic or replies in a forum, giving you access to member details, profile fields, and activity data.
3. Select Dynamics 365 Sales as the destination
Choose Dynamics 365 Sales from the platform dropdown and pick Add Lead. This creates a lead in Dynamics 365 Sales.
4. Map fields
Match each Dynamics 365 Sales field on the left to the corresponding bbPress field on the right. Common mappings include member name, email, profile data, and activity type. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain activities? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test a user creates a topic or replies in a forum in bbPress. Check Dynamics 365 Sales to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps name, email, and phone to Dynamics 365 Sales with unlimited events. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-event fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which bbPress events trigger the integration?
AFI fires when a user creates a topic or replies in a forum. This covers member registrations, profile updates, and group joins.
Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the community event completes. Your members are not affected.
Can I send member data to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every event flows to all of them simultaneously.
