How to Send ARForms Data to Intercom

Intercom is a customer messaging platform. Events can trigger instant notifications. Here is how to pipe ARForms submission straight into Intercom using Advanced Form Integration. The setup takes about five minutes and runs entirely on your own server.

The direct approach

What you will need

• A WordPress site with ARForms installed and configured.
• A Intercom account.

Connect Intercom to AFI

1. Log in to your Intercom workspace.
2. Go to Settings → API Keys and copy your Access Token.
3. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Intercom.
4. Paste the Access Token and click Save Changes.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it ARForms to Intercom.

2. Pick your trigger

Select ARForms as the form provider. AFI fires when a form is submitted, giving you access to submitter name, email, phone, and any custom form fields.

3. Select Intercom as the destination

Choose Intercom from the platform dropdown and pick Add Contact. This creates or updates a contact in Intercom.

4. Map fields

Match each Intercom field on the left to the corresponding ARForms field on the right. Common mappings include submitter name, email, phone, and any custom form fields. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in ARForms. Check Intercom to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
