Google Drive is a file storage platform. Every The Events Calendar event record should flow into Google Drive automatically. This guide shows how to set that up in five minutes.

Skip the automation middleman

Rather than routing data through a third-party cloud, AFI sends it directly from your WordPress server to file storage. No task meter, no monthly bill.

What you will need

  • A WordPress site with The Events Calendar installed and configured.
  • A Google Drive account.
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).

Connect Google Drive to AFI

Google Drive uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Google Drive, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it The Events Calendar to Google Drive.

2. Pick your trigger

Select The Events Calendar as the form provider. AFI fires when an event RSVP or ticket order is submitted, giving you access to attendee name, email, event title, event date, ticket type, and order total.

3. Select Google Drive as the destination

Choose Google Drive from the platform dropdown and pick Upload File. This uploads a file to Google Drive.

4. Map fields

Match each Google Drive field on the left to the corresponding The Events Calendar field on the right. Common mappings include attendee name, email, event title, event date, ticket type, and order total. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in The Events Calendar. Check Google Drive to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.

Free vs Pro

The free version maps file content and filename to Google Drive with unlimited records. Pro adds folder selection. No per-record fees on any plan.

Frequently asked questions

Which The Events Calendar events trigger the integration?

AFI fires when an event RSVP or ticket order is submitted. This covers new submissions and relevant status changes.

Will adding this slow down my site?

No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.

Can I send data to multiple platforms?

Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
