How to Send Funnel Builder Data to Trello
Trello is a project management tool for organizing work and collaborating. Funnel Builder manages a visitor submits a form or completes a step in a funnel, but sending that data to external platforms needs an integration. AFI bridges that gap to Trello.
Why connect directly?
Cloud automation tools like Zapier charge per task and route your data through external servers. AFI processes everything on your WordPress site. No per-submission fees, no external dependencies.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with Funnel Builder installed and configured.
- A Trello account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Trello to AFI
- Go to trello.com/1/appKey to get your API Key.
- Authorize and get your API Token.
- In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Trello.
- Enter the API Key and Token, then click Save.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Funnel Builder to Trello.
2. Pick your trigger
Select Funnel Builder as the form provider. AFI fires when a visitor submits a form or completes a step in a funnel, giving you access to visitor name, email, phone, funnel step, and custom field values.
3. Select Trello as the destination
Choose Trello from the platform dropdown and pick Create Card. This creates a card on a Trello board.
4. Map fields
Match each Trello field on the left to the corresponding Funnel Builder field on the right. Common mappings include visitor name, email, phone, funnel step, and custom field values. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Funnel Builder. Check Trello to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps card name, description, and list to Trello with unlimited records. Pro adds custom field mapping and label assignment. No per-record fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which Funnel Builder events trigger the integration?
AFI fires when a visitor submits a form or completes a step in a funnel. This covers new submissions and relevant status changes.
Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.
Can I send data to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
