How to Send Email Subscribers Data to Campaignmonitor
Campaignmonitor is a platform platform. Here is how to pipe Email Subscribers subscriber straight into Campaignmonitor using Advanced Form Integration. The setup takes about five minutes and runs entirely on your own server.
The direct approach
AFI delivers subscriber data straight from WordPress to Campaignmonitor. No third-party cloud, no per-task fees, and every request is logged for troubleshooting.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with Email Subscribers installed and configured.
- A Campaignmonitor account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Campaignmonitor to AFI
Campaignmonitor uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Campaignmonitor, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Email Subscribers to Campaignmonitor.
2. Pick your trigger
Select Email Subscribers as the form provider. AFI fires when a subscriber joins a list or confirms their subscription, giving you access to subscriber name, email, list ID, and subscription status.
3. Select Campaignmonitor as the destination
Choose Campaignmonitor from the platform dropdown and pick Add Record. This creates a record in Campaignmonitor.
4. Map fields
Match each Campaignmonitor field on the left to the corresponding Email Subscribers field on the right. Common mappings include subscriber name, email, list ID, and subscription status. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Email Subscribers. Check Campaignmonitor to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps name and email to Campaignmonitor with unlimited records. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-record fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which Email Subscribers events trigger the integration?
AFI fires when a subscriber joins a list or confirms their subscription. This covers new submissions and relevant status changes.
Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.
Can I send data to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
