How to Send Charitable Data to Trello

Trello is a project management tool for organizing work and collaborating. Charitable manages a donation is made through a fundraising campaign, but sending that data to external platforms needs an integration. AFI bridges that gap to Trello.

Connect Trello to AFI

1. Go to trello.com/1/appKey to get your API Key.
2. Authorize and get your API Token.
3. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Trello.
4. Enter the API Key and Token, then click Save.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Charitable to Trello.

2. Pick your trigger

Select Charitable as the form provider. AFI fires when a donation is made through a fundraising campaign, giving you access to donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway.

3. Select Trello as the destination

Choose Trello from the platform dropdown and pick Create Card. This creates a card on a Trello board.

4. Map fields

Match each Trello field on the left to the corresponding Charitable field on the right. Common mappings include donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Charitable. Check Trello to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
