Resend is a email delivery platform for managing subscribers and campaigns. Charitable manages a donation is made through a fundraising campaign, but sending that data to external platforms needs an integration. AFI bridges that gap to Resend.

Why connect directly?

Cloud automation tools like Zapier charge per task and route your data through external servers. AFI processes everything on your WordPress site. No per-donation fees, no external dependencies.

What you will need

  • A WordPress site with Charitable installed and configured.
  • A Resend account.
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).

Connect Resend to AFI

  1. Log in to your Resend account.
  2. Copy your API Key from settings.
  3. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Resend.
  4. Paste the API Key and click Save Changes.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Charitable to Resend.

2. Pick your trigger

Select Charitable as the form provider. AFI fires when a donation is made through a fundraising campaign, giving you access to donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway.

3. Select Resend as the destination

Choose Resend from the platform dropdown and pick Add Contact. This adds a contact to Resend.

4. Map fields

Match each Resend field on the left to the corresponding Charitable field on the right. Common mappings include donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Charitable. Check Resend to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.

Free vs Pro

The free version maps email and name to Resend with unlimited records. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-record fees on any plan.
