How to Send Charitable Data to Elasticemail
Elasticemail is a platform platform. Here is how to pipe Charitable donation straight into Elasticemail using Advanced Form Integration. The setup takes about five minutes and runs entirely on your own server.
The direct approach
AFI delivers donation data straight from WordPress to Elasticemail. No third-party cloud, no per-task fees, and every request is logged for troubleshooting.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with Charitable installed and configured.
- A Elasticemail account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Elasticemail to AFI
Elasticemail uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Elasticemail, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Charitable to Elasticemail.
2. Pick your trigger
Select Charitable as the form provider. AFI fires when a donation is made through a fundraising campaign, giving you access to donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway.
3. Select Elasticemail as the destination
Choose Elasticemail from the platform dropdown and pick Add Record. This creates a record in Elasticemail.
4. Map fields
Match each Elasticemail field on the left to the corresponding Charitable field on the right. Common mappings include donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Charitable. Check Elasticemail to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps name and email to Elasticemail with unlimited records. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-record fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which Charitable events trigger the integration?
AFI fires when a donation is made through a fundraising campaign. This covers new submissions and relevant status changes.
Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.
Can I send data to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
