How to Send Charitable Data to Constant Contact
Constant Contact is a email marketing platform for managing subscribers and campaigns. Charitable manages a donation is made through a fundraising campaign, but sending that data to external platforms needs an integration. AFI bridges that gap to Constant Contact.
Why not just use Zapier?
For connecting Charitable to email marketing, a cloud automation service adds cost and a dependency on an external server. AFI runs on your site with no task limits.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with Charitable installed and configured.
- A Constant Contact account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Constant Contact to AFI
Constant Contact uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Constant Contact, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Charitable to Constant Contact.
2. Pick your trigger
Select Charitable as the form provider. AFI fires when a donation is made through a fundraising campaign, giving you access to donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway.
3. Select Constant Contact as the destination
Choose Constant Contact from the platform dropdown and pick Add Contact. This adds a contact to Constant Contact.
4. Map fields
Match each Constant Contact field on the left to the corresponding Charitable field on the right. Common mappings include donor name, email, donation amount, campaign ID, and gateway. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Charitable. Check Constant Contact to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps email, first name, and last name to Constant Contact with unlimited records. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-record fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which Charitable events trigger the integration?

Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.
Can I send data to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
