How to Send WP Job Manager Data to Slack
Slack is a messaging platform. Events can trigger instant notifications. If you want WP Job Manager job synced to Slack, you could pay for a cloud automation service. Or you could do it directly from WordPress. This is the direct route.
Why connect directly?
Cloud automation tools like Zapier charge per task and route your data through external servers. AFI processes everything on your WordPress site. No per-job fees, no external dependencies.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with WP Job Manager installed and configured.
- A Slack account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Slack to AFI
Slack uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Slack, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it WP Job Manager to Slack.
2. Pick your trigger
Select WP Job Manager as the form provider. AFI fires when a job listing is submitted, giving you access to company name, job title, email, location, job type, and application URL.
3. Select Slack as the destination
Choose Slack from the platform dropdown and pick Send Message. This sends a message to a Slack channel.
4. Map fields
Match each Slack field on the left to the corresponding WP Job Manager field on the right. Common mappings include company name, job title, email, location, job type, and application URL. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in WP Job Manager. Check Slack to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps message text to Slack with unlimited records. Pro adds channel selection via webhook. No per-record fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which WP Job Manager events trigger the integration?

Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the event completes. Your site performance is not affected.
Can I send data to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every record flows to all of them simultaneously.
