How to Send Amelia Data to WhatsApp

WhatsApp is a messaging platform. Events can trigger instant notifications. Every Amelia booking record should flow into WhatsApp automatically. This guide shows how to set that up in five minutes.

The direct approach

Connect WhatsApp to AFI

WhatsApp uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → WhatsApp, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it Amelia to WhatsApp.

2. Pick your trigger

Select Amelia as the form provider. AFI fires when an appointment or booking is made, giving you access to customer name, email, phone, service name, appointment date, and booking status.

3. Select WhatsApp as the destination

Choose WhatsApp from the platform dropdown and pick Send Message. This sends a WhatsApp message via the Business API.

4. Map fields

Match each WhatsApp field on the left to the corresponding Amelia field on the right. Common mappings include customer name, email, phone, service name, appointment date, and booking status. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in Amelia. Check WhatsApp to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
