How to Send GiveWP Data to Intercom

Intercom is a customer messaging platform. Events can trigger instant notifications. Here is how to pipe GiveWP donation straight into Intercom using Advanced Form Integration. The setup takes about five minutes and runs entirely on your own server.

What you will need

• A WordPress site with GiveWP installed and configured.

Connect Intercom to AFI

1. Log in to your Intercom workspace.
2. Go to Settings → API Keys and copy your Access Token.
3. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Intercom.
4. Paste the Access Token and click Save Changes.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it GiveWP to Intercom.

3. Select Intercom as the destination

Match each Intercom field on the left to the corresponding GiveWP field on the right. Common mappings include donor name, email, donation amount, form ID, and payment method. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain records? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Trigger a test event in GiveWP. Check Intercom to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
