How to Send bbPress Data to MailerSend
MailerSend is a transactional email platform for managing subscribers and campaigns. Getting bbPress data into MailerSend does not require external tools. Advanced Form Integration handles it natively, and this guide covers every step.
The direct approach
AFI delivers member and activity data straight from WordPress to MailerSend. No third-party cloud, no per-task fees, and every request is logged for troubleshooting.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with bbPress installed and configured.
- A MailerSend account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect MailerSend to AFI
MailerSend uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → MailerSend, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it bbPress to MailerSend.
2. Pick your trigger
Select bbPress as the form provider. AFI fires when a user creates a topic or replies in a forum, giving you access to member details, profile fields, and activity data.
3. Select MailerSend as the destination
Choose MailerSend from the platform dropdown and pick Add Recipient. This adds a recipient to MailerSend.
4. Map fields
Match each MailerSend field on the left to the corresponding bbPress field on the right. Common mappings include member name, email, profile data, and activity type. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain activities? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test a user creates a topic or replies in a forum in bbPress. Check MailerSend to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps email and name to MailerSend with unlimited events. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-event fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which bbPress events trigger the integration?
AFI fires when a user creates a topic or replies in a forum. This covers member registrations, profile updates, and group joins.
Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the community event completes. Your members are not affected.
Can I send member data to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every event flows to all of them simultaneously.
