How to Send BuddyPress Data to Awesome Support
Awesome Support is a helpdesk platform. If you want BuddyPress activity in Awesome Support, you could pay for a cloud automation service. Or you could do it directly from WordPress. This is the direct route.
Why connect directly?
Cloud automation tools like Zapier charge per task and route your data through external servers. AFI processes everything on your WordPress site. No per-registration fees, no external dependencies.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with BuddyPress installed and configured.
- A Awesome Support account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Awesome Support to AFI
Awesome Support uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Awesome Support, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it BuddyPress to Awesome Support.
2. Pick your trigger
Select BuddyPress as the form provider. AFI fires when a member registers, updates their profile, or joins a group, giving you access to member details, profile fields, and activity data.
3. Select Awesome Support as the destination
Choose Awesome Support from the platform dropdown and pick Create Ticket. This creates a support ticket in Awesome Support.
4. Map fields
Match each Awesome Support field on the left to the corresponding BuddyPress field on the right. Common mappings include member name, email, profile data, and activity type. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain activities? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Trigger a test a member registers, updates their profile, or joins a group in BuddyPress. Check Awesome Support to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps subject, content, and email to Awesome Support with unlimited events. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-event fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which BuddyPress events trigger the integration?
AFI fires when a member registers, updates their profile, or joins a group. This covers member registrations, profile updates, and group joins.
Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the community event completes. Your members are not affected.
Can I send member data to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every event flows to all of them simultaneously.
