How to Send LifterLMS Enrollments to Customer.io

Customer.io is a marketing automation platform. LifterLMS manages a student enrolls in a course or purchases a membership, but sending that data to external platforms needs an integration. AFI bridges that gap to Customer.io.

What you will need

Connect Customer.io to AFI

1. Log in to your Customer.io account.
2. Go to Settings → API Credentials and copy your Site ID and API Key.
3. In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Customer.io.
4. Enter the Site ID and API Key, then click Save Changes.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it LifterLMS to Customer.io.

2. Pick your trigger

Select LifterLMS as the form provider. AFI fires when a student enrolls in a course or purchases a membership, giving you access to student details, course information, and enrollment data.

3. Select Customer.io as the destination

Choose Customer.io from the platform dropdown and pick Add Customer. This creates or updates a customer in Customer.io.

4. Map fields

Match each Customer.io field on the left to the corresponding LifterLMS field on the right. Common mappings include student name, email, course title, and enrollment date. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.

5. Add conditions if needed

Only want to send certain enrollments? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Complete a test enrollment in LifterLMS. Check Customer.io to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
