How to Send LearnDash Enrollments to Kit
Kit is a email marketing platform for managing subscribers and campaigns. LearnDash handles a student enrolls in a course or completes a lesson on your WordPress site. Kit is where that data needs to go. Here is how to connect them without Zapier or code.
Why connect directly?
Cloud automation tools like Zapier charge per task and route your data through external servers. AFI processes everything on your WordPress site. No per-enrollment fees, no external dependencies.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with LearnDash installed and at least one course.
- A Kit account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Kit to AFI
- Log in to your Kit account.
- Go to Settings → API and copy your API Key.
- In WordPress, go to AFI → Settings → Kit.
- Paste the API Key and click Save Changes.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it LearnDash to Kit.
2. Pick your trigger
Select LearnDash as the form provider. AFI fires when a student enrolls in a course or completes a lesson, giving you access to student details, course information, and enrollment data.
3. Select Kit as the destination
Choose Kit from the platform dropdown and pick Add Subscriber. This adds a subscriber to Kit.
4. Map fields
Match each Kit field on the left to the corresponding LearnDash field on the right. Common mappings include student name, email, course title, and enrollment date. You can also use smart tags like {{_submission_date}}.
5. Add conditions if needed
Only want to send certain enrollments? Set up a conditional rule based on any field value.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Complete a test enrollment in LearnDash. Check Kit to confirm the data arrived. If anything looks wrong, open AFI → Log to see the exact request and response.
Free vs Pro
The free version maps email, first name, and last name to Kit with unlimited enrollments. Pro adds custom field mapping and tag selection. No per-enrollment fees on any plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which LearnDash events trigger the integration?
AFI fires when a student enrolls in a course or completes a lesson. This covers new enrollments, course completions, and student registrations.
Will adding this slow down my site?
No. AFI sends data to the destination after the enrollment event completes. Your students are not affected.
Can I send enrollments to multiple platforms?
Yes. Create a separate integration for each destination, and every enrollment flows to all of them simultaneously.
