How to Send Contact Form 7 Submissions to Xero
Xero is an accounting platform for managing finances. Contact Form 7 is the most popular form plugin on WordPress, and Xero is where that data needs to land. Here is how to connect the two without writing code.
Why not just use Zapier?
For connecting Contact Form 7 to accounting, a cloud automation service adds cost and a dependency on an external server. AFI runs on your site with no task limits.
What you will need
- A WordPress site with Contact Form 7 installed and at least one form.
- A Xero account.
- The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).
Connect Xero to AFI
Xero uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Xero, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.
Setting up the integration
1. Create a new integration
Go to AFI → Add New. Name it CF7 to Xero.
2. Pick your trigger
Select Contact Form 7 and choose your form. Fields are detected automatically.
3. Select Xero as the destination
Choose Xero and pick Add Contact. This creates a contact in Xero.
4. Map fields
Match each Xero field to the corresponding Contact Form 7 field. Smart tags like {{_submission_date}} are available.
5. Add conditions if needed
Send only specific submissions based on conditional rules.
6. Save and test
Click Save Integration. Submit a test form and verify in Xero. Check AFI → Log if needed.
Free vs Pro
Free maps name and email with unlimited submissions. Pro adds custom field mapping. No per-submission fees.
