Google Tasks is a task management platform. Contact Form 7 is the most popular form plugin on WordPress, and Google Tasks is where that data needs to land. Here is how to connect the two without writing code.

Why connect directly?

Cloud automation tools like Zapier charge per task and route your data through external servers. AFI processes everything on your WordPress site. No per-submission fees, no external dependencies.

What you will need

  • A WordPress site with Contact Form 7 installed and at least one form.
  • A Google Tasks account.
  • The Advanced Form Integration plugin (free from WordPress.org).

Connect Google Tasks to AFI

Google Tasks uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication. In AFI → Settings → Google Tasks, click Authorize and grant access. This is a one-time step.

Setting up the integration

1. Create a new integration

Go to AFI → Add New. Name it CF7 to Google Tasks.

2. Pick your trigger

Select Contact Form 7 and choose your form. Fields are detected automatically.

3. Select Google Tasks as the destination

Choose Google Tasks and pick Create Task. This creates a task in Google Tasks.

4. Map fields

Match each Google Tasks field to the corresponding Contact Form 7 field. Smart tags like {{_submission_date}} are available.

5. Add conditions if needed

Send only specific submissions based on conditional rules.

6. Save and test

Click Save Integration. Submit a test form and verify in Google Tasks. Check AFI → Log if needed.

Free vs Pro

Free maps title and notes with unlimited submissions. Pro adds task list selection. No per-submission fees.
